Pink Door

Finally! I have been talking about painting my front door pink for literally months. Well the day has come. And I couldn't be happier.

It took 4 coats to cover the shiny red that was there before. I was worried about painting over the oil-based red paint, but the man at Walmart assured me that the Glidden 2 in 1 primer and paint would do the job - and it did! Worked like a charm.

I finally got around to permanently hanging this scrolly candle/plant holder -
you can see when I painted it way back in April here.

We also put new hardware on the front door.
The old stuff was gold and ugly.

It is pretty hard to see from the road in these pictures, but in real life the porch is less dark. The door is the same color as the middle circle on my floor mat/rug - see how I made the rug here.

Great choice of color right there! Pink is complementing appealingly to the color of your home! Although it doesn't change that much (being the previous color was red), I think you just made a great change of environment and mood for your home. Congrats and cheers to your pink door! :)

I just love your PINK door! And it looks perfect against the pale yellow exterior of your home. Why don’t you consider painting your windows pink as well to make it uniform? I’m sure your home will be such a lovely sight!

The color pink is rarely used as a front door color, but I think it works with your house. In fact, it looks adorable! Good thing you chose a darker shade so it will blend with the color your sidings. Overall, it looks perfect!

Hello.

I've been thinking about doing the same paint change. My Aunt did the bright red, she loved Chinese red. This year I put all pink annuals out in the front along the walkway and the front door. I really like the monochromatic impact of pink throughout my yard. I have plenty of red and pink in the shrubs as well.

As I scrolled through your photos I thought, wow, two good ideas that differentiates a cookie-cutter front elevation from all the rest.

Anyhow, I was curious about the paint colors you chose for your door and your painted rug. Would you mind sharing?

I am also curious about the color, whenever I find one I like there is no information on the brand or color choice
