Since recently moving to the great state of Indiana, my husband and I are in the process of buying a house. We are on a tight budget but I will settle for nothing less than fabulous when it comes to my belongings. I am lucky enough to have a sister with an imagination and an eye for design to help me. This summer we will be scouring flea markets, garage sales, and junk stores looking for items we consider a steal that can be repurposed, refurbished, and frankly, made to be better than they ever were to begin with. I hope to document our treasure hunting journey here on my blog to serve as inspiration to others and a reminder to ourselves that with a little imagination and elbow grease, trash really can become treasure.
This little beauty came from a garage sale in Kalamazoo, MI. The lady charged me $3 and when I gave her a 10 dollar bill she gave me back 8 in change. I guess being jipped a dollar is a fit punishment for the crime of not knowing basic math.
