I have wanted a pineapple just like this once since I first moved to Charleston. Of course I finally have one now that I have moved. Apparently pineapples are a sign of hospitality because when ship captains and crew came back from sailing the sea they would place fruit on their fence posts to signal their presence, inviting in visitors.

Glittered Pineapple Project
A couple weeks ago I participated in a Martha Stewart live chat on Twitter. It was about Easter and apparently participating entered me to win a prize from Martha Stewart's Craft collection. I asked two questions, first whether it is appropriate to request an Easter gift from my husband, and second, what I should cook on Easter because I am a vegetarian and it was my first vegetarian Easter (we had spaghetti). The Martha representatives only answered my first question, supporting my gift request. A few days later they told me I won! My prize was Martha Stewart glitter (which of course I already own - but the prize was different colors) and craft glue. Below is the first project made with my free loot.
